Webinar Exploring Carbon Farming
On October 30th, New Agriculture New Generation held a highly engaging webinar titled “Exploring Carbon Farming,” as part of the Carbon Farming Awareness Hub project. This initiative aimed to inform and educate participants about the concept of carbon farming, its role as a mitigation tool for climate change, the institutional framework supporting its implementation, and the challenges and opportunities arising from transitioning to sustainable farming practices. Delivered in Greek, the session underscored the importance of enhancing knowledge and capacity-building to promote resilience in agriculture. This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering sustainable development in line with global environmental priorities.
The webinar hosted by New Agriculture New Generation featured expert speakers who presented a comprehensive range of topics related to carbon farming, highlighting its potential to mitigate CO2 emissions and foster sustainable agriculture practices.

Dr. Dimitris Voloudakis, Agronomist, Director of Capacity Building Department, New Agriculture New Generation
Dr. Voloudakis presented an Introduction to Carbon Farming, covering:
- The definition of carbon farming and its role in mitigating climate change.
- The current legislative and institutional framework that governs the implementation of carbon farming practices within the EU.
Ms. Daphne Kitsou, Agronomist, Scientific Collaborator at i-BEC (Interbalkan Environmental Center)
Ms. Kitsou provided in-depth insights into:

- Successful Examples of Carbon Farming in Greece
The webinar was successfully implemented, and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The interest in repeating the webinar was remarkably high, reflecting the enthusiasm for carbon farming as a tool for climate action. The event featured valuable discussions and a dynamic Q&A session that highlighted the growing engagement in this important topic. In total, 175 people registered for the webinar and 89 managed to attend (52% Female participants), actively participating in discussions and raising critical points on the topic.
The recorded session will be available on the Cultivate platform. We are excited to expand our network and connect with even more people passionate about sustainable agriculture and carbon farming solutions. This feedback motivates us to continue delivering impactful initiatives to our community.
