Public Lecture Event: Introducing Carbon Farming in Lesvos, Greece
On November 14th, TheoRI held a highly engaging public lecture event titled "Introducing Carbon Farming'. This initiative aimed to inform and educate participants about the concept of carbon farming, its role as a mitigation tool for climate change, the institutional framework supporting its implementation, and the challenges and opportunities arising from transitioning to sustainable farming practices. Delivered in Greek, this initiative reflects a commitment to fostering sustainable development in line with global environmental priorities. The lecture brought together 15 participants in total (46.7% female).
The lecture event was hosted at the Department of Environment, University of the Aegean, Lesvos, Greece, and featured two expert speakers who presented a comprehensive range of topics related to carbon farming, highlighting its potential to mitigate CO2 emissions and foster sustainable agriculture practices.

The lectures proved particularly interesting and engaging for the audience, which constituted mainly of students, with a few new farmers. An engaging Q&A session followed, and all participants expressed their interest in receiving more specialized information on the topic of carbon farming.
