Celebration of Organic Agriculture & Carbon Farming
On April 24th 2025, AGROBIO held an event at the Coimbra School of Agriculture titled Celebrating Organic Farming and Carbon Farming, as part of the Carbon Farming Awareness Hub project.
This action featured the participation of several expert speakers from academia, policy, and farming sectors, and was especially aimed at students and future farmers. The session combined presentations with a field visit to the school’s organic farm, offering both theoritical and practical insights into carbon farming and sustainable land management.
With 43 participants and strong engagement, the event covered topics such as soil health, livestock, and biodiversity, agroforestry, and vineyard management. The visit to the farm allowed participants to see carbon sequestration practices in action.
The session generated great interest, with attendees expressing a desire for future collaboration and application of these practices on their own farms.
