Webinar No 1: Organic Farming & Carbon Sequestration
On Monday, April 28, 2025, the Academy of Entrepreneurship hosted the first webinar in its sustainable agriculture series, titled “Organic Farming and Carbon Sequestration.” This event aimed to highlight how organic farming practices can contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing soil health. Gathering 25 individuals to actively comment on the experiences of Lambros Antonopoulos, an experienced farmer and oil producer, the kick-off of the webinar series in Greece can be considered as a great success!
Key Themes Discussed
The webinar focused on four central themes:
Foundations of Organic Farming: An introduction to the principles of organic agriculture and how they align with carbon sequestration strategies.
Soil Health through Organic Practices: Insights into agricultural methods that not only preserve but improve soil quality, fostering long-term ecological balance.
Techniques for Emission Reduction: A presentation of practical approaches in organic farming that minimize greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate mitigation efforts.
Case Studies of Success: Real-world examples from successful organic farms that are making measurable impacts on sustainability and carbon management.
This webinar served as an important knowledge-sharing platform for farmers, researchers, and environmental stakeholders. By promoting organic methods and highlighting their role in combating climate change, the session laid the groundwork for deeper discussions and future collaborations in the field of regenerative agriculture.
